Exile - R.A. Salvatore Rereading this for the first time since I was 16.

...and it's better than I remember, which is a good thing.

I enjoyed this book-- I still remember the character of Belwar Dissengulp and the freaky illithids from when I was 16, so that's got to be a good sign, right?

My only real complaint about this particular volume is it seems a little belabored-- everyone-- the author, reader, even the character (probably) knew that Drizzt was eventually going to end up leaving the underdark and going to the surface. The only surprising thing was that it took a whole dang book to do it.

This maybe would've functioned better as the first half of a novel, but it was pretty enjoyable as the whole thing, too.
